Final course reflection

This class by far has been one of the best classes I have taken at UA. All of the hands on things we learn are crucial to the development process that we all need as students trying to chase are goals. When I came into the class i knew nothing about the importance of lighting and how affective it is in films. I also got better with my camera skills, teamwork and much more. As I go finish off my last couple semesters I will continue to grow as an artist and as a leader.

Director/DP Demo Reel (April 29, 2010) w/ Artist Statement

Jonathan Barge
Artist Statement

Ever since I can remember images from movies, pictures, and paintings, have always captivated me into wanting to entertain people for a living. My interest in media production began during my high school years, when I took my first TV Production class. I enjoyed the excitement and creativity involved in producing a product that others found entertaining and thought provoking.
I enjoy all types of media from the old to the new generation of entertainment. I think that is what seperates me from your "Average Joe" in the business. I know what the people want, and I can give it to them through my eyes and vision. Seeing and believing in something is a subject that I thrive in. My modo is "without faith, what do you have?" Faith and determenation is what drives me forward as a man and as a artist.
My direction for the future is to continue to see my vision take light. So far I have directed, edited, and produce short pieces. Including a music video, a short scene, documentary, and a commercial. It's so many genres in films, and TV I would like to work with including drama, action, sports, and music.

Life is but a dream, so I have my boat ready to sail. One Love

Direct A Scene Video

The Money Shots $$$$$

Personally I think the money shot is one of the most
important pieces to a film. It gives the "WOW" factor
for the audience. It is a must on my part to find or
get the money shot in my film at least one time.
To me scenery and the subject can be the best type of money
shots. Or just something expressing lots of emotion through
the pictures on the screen.

Preperation for the "Direct a scene" shoot

In planning out my scene by observing and pre-visualizing my shots by looking at the things and places around me for inspiration on good shots....But as time went by my scene decision changed. So now I have to visual the intesity and heat of the scene that I need to shoot. It's goin to be alot of emotions in my scene. Therefore I need something Hot!
